Stuck on a level, found a bug, or a sentence in the German version sounds off? Email support@kettwood.info. I usually answer within two working days. It helps to mention the level (for example 3·04), your iPhone model and iOS version – Settings in the game shows the app version at the bottom.
At the loom
How does treadling work?
The warp threads are already threaded through four shafts, and each treadle is tied to some of those shafts. When you press a treadle, its shafts lift their warp threads, the shuttle carries the weft underneath, and one row of cloth lies down. Where a warp thread was lifted you see warp; everywhere else you see weft.
You weave the whole length of cloth yourself – the status line shows the row you are on and how many the cloth needs (at least twelve, always whole repeats of the sample). Nothing is filled in for you; the level is finished when every row matches the sample.
What do the dots on a treadle mean?
Each treadle has one dot per shaft, left to right for shafts 1 to 4. A green dot means that treadle lifts that shaft; a pale wooden dot means it stays down. Two green dots on the left, for example, lift every warp thread that runs through shafts 1 and 2. Reading the dots lets you plan a row before you press anything.
My cloth almost matches. Why doesn't it count?
The game compares the whole cloth, crossing by crossing, row by row. One row in the wrong place, or a colour order shifted by a single thread, gives a cloth that looks nearly right but isn't identical. A green bar along the left edge of the cloth grows while your rows match the sample from the bottom; where it stops is where to look.
If your cloth is identical, it counts – even if you got there with a different treadling or colour order than the one I had in mind. Shifting the colours by a whole repeat is identical too.
How do the spools work in Colour Tricks?
From chapter 2 the treadling is locked and you set colours instead. Tap a spool to move it to the next yarn in the level's palette; the cloth updates straight away. When a chain is shown between the rows of spools, the weft follows the warp, so you only change the warp spools.
How do hints work?
Tap Hints on the loom. There are three, and you can use them as often as you like:
- Show the first difference marks the first row or spool that doesn't match the sample.
- Show the sample as a draft shows the sample as a flat weaver's draft: a line in a square means the warp is on top there.
- Fix one step for me sets one wrong row or spool right.
Hints cost nothing. A level solved without them gets a small seal on the chapter map; with hints it gets a plain tick. That's the only difference.
A chapter is still closed. How do I open it?
Weave seven of the ten cloths in the chapter before it. You can come back for the other three whenever you like, and every finished level can be replayed.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes, without limit. Undo row takes off the last row, Unravel takes the level back to its start. If you leave a level halfway, it is still there when you come back.
Fabrics, sewing and your progress
Where are my fabrics and sewn pieces kept? Do I need an account?
There is no account. Unlocked fabrics wait in the Wardrobe, and pieces you keep in the Sew tab (up to fifty) are listed under “Kept pieces”. All of it is stored on your iPhone only.
Does Kettwood work offline?
Yes. All 40 levels, the wardrobe and sewing work in flight mode. A connection is only used for optional notifications and for checking whether an update exists.
How do I reset my progress or delete my data?
In the game, open Settings → Start over → Reset progress and confirm. This removes every level, the wardrobe and your kept pieces; it can't be undone. Your sound settings stay as they are. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the iPhone.
If you once allowed notifications and want the OneSignal record removed as well, email support@kettwood.info with the subject “Delete my data”. The privacy policy explains what that record contains.
Can I get a note about new chapters – or stop getting one?
Kettwood asks once, when your seventh cloth in chapter 1 opens chapter 2. To turn them on later, go to Settings → Notifications → New chapters → Turn on. To turn them off, use the iOS Settings app → Notifications → Kettwood. They only ever announce new chapters.
Which languages does the game speak?
English and German. Kettwood follows your iPhone's language. To play in the other one, open the iOS Settings app → Kettwood → Language (on iOS 18 and later: Settings → Apps → Kettwood → Language).
Can I turn off the sounds or the music box?
Yes. In Settings → Sound and touch you can switch loom sounds, the music box and haptics separately. Sounds also stay quiet when your iPhone is in silent mode.
If something isn't right
No note arrived about a new chapter
Check the iOS Settings app → Notifications → Kettwood, and that Focus isn't holding them back. Remember they are rare: one only arrives when an update brings new chapters, so silence is normal most of the time.
My progress is gone after reinstalling
Progress lives only on the device and is not backed up to a server of ours, so deleting the app deletes it. Restoring the whole iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup brings app data back with it; reinstalling the app on its own does not.
A level looks wrong, or something doesn't load
Levels and fabrics are built into the app and never download. If the loom looks broken, close Kettwood from the app switcher and open it again. The privacy and support pages inside the app need an internet connection. If the problem stays, write to me with the level number and a screenshot.
Schreib an support@kettwood.info.
Zwei grüne Punkte links heben also alle Kettfäden in Schaft 1 und 2.
Später einschalten: Einstellungen → Mitteilungen → Neue Kapitel → Einschalten.
